German publicity photos for Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. These came bundled with a Presseinformation kit provided by United International Pictures, who handled the film’s release in Germany. Zurück In De Gegwart: Star Trek IV was released in March of 1987, a full five months after its American debut.
Of interest to absolutely nobody outside of me, the images included were 5″x7″, instead of the typical 8″x10″ photos used by Paramount in the United States and any information about the photo was printed by a dot matrix printer onto a label that was affixed to the back. Here’s what was written about William Shatner:
William Shatner als Admiral James T. Kirk im viertten Leinwand-Abenteurer der “Star Trek”-Serie. Diesmal unternimmt die Enterprise-Crew eine spektakuläre Zeitreise – zurück in die Welt unserer Tage.
Google Translation? “William Shatner as Admiral James T. Kirk in the fourth Canvas adventurer of “Star Trek” series. This time takes the Enterprise crew a spectacular time travel – back to the world of our day.”
Okay, then. Keep trying, Google.
